“Joanna and I really trust people to do their jobs. And I think it surprises people because they go ‘Oh, I have the freedom to actually do the job the way I want it?’ Yeah! , If you think it’s great. We are going to trust you that it’s great!”
Welcome back to Nothing Shines Like Dirt episode 64. Elise and Lesley sit down with Producer/Actor Caity Ware. They discuss her feature film We Are Gathered Here currently making its rounds at the festival circuit, being a lighthouse vs a lifeboat, and Jen AKA Jennifer Anniston.
Caity is a UCLA alumna with a lifetime of acting and a decade of producing under her belt. On the performance front, she has delivered bad news on "American Horror Story," delivered bad news on "S.W.A.T.," delivered bad news on the award-winning web series "OKStupid"...we're sensing a theme here. On the producing front, she has independently produced more than two-dozen award-winning short films, music videos, and web series, which have played over 50 festivals, including Tribeca, Dances With Films, and the Florida Film Festival, and have been featured on the curated sites Short of the Week and Omeleto. Caity is currently hitting festivals for the indie dark comedy feature "We Are Gathered Here," which she produced and stars in. The film premiered at the 2019 Manhattan Film Festival in NYC where it won Best Romantic Comedy. When not producing or acting, Caity bakes. Her peanut butter bars have made men propose. She finally said yes to one, and then let her friends film a pilot at her wedding, because when you have a beautiful location and 250 extras locked down, you film something!
