“Enter contests. Enter writing contests. Put your work out there. Alot of people will say its too competitive, ‘Oh no, those contests are rigged and you have to know people.’ And it’s just not true. I do think there is volume and great scripts can slip through, but I think if you submit the same script to 7 contests and even if you place 5th or 15th, you’re going to know ‘there is something to this script. You will know, my work is getting to this place. And if you don’t then that script just not ready or your work isn’t ready”

Welcome back to Nothing Shines Like Dirt Episode 65. Elise and Lesley sit down with writer Hollie Overton. They discuss writing from novels to TV, entering writing contests and Mothers always know best!
