Women's Weekend Film Challenge

Women's Weekend Film Challenge

"I know so many filmmaker’s here in New York, who are doing such incredible things. People doing their own web series, their own feature and their own shorts.  Why can’t we all work together and make that happen. The biggest thing was the networking thing, it was that  I realized I get almost every single one of my jobs from people I worked with before. I thought if I am only working with male cinematographers, whenever I’m producing something or whenever someone asks me for a recommendation, I am going to have a man who I either hire or recommend.  So I think that it would help to get more women to work with other women, so we can recommend each other we can hire each other."

Welcome back to Nothing Shines Like Dirt Episode 45. Elise and Lesley sit down with Katrina Medoff and Tracy Sayre who founded the Women's Weekend Film Challenge. They discuss how they put together the challenge in under 2 months, with 150+ female filmmakers creating 9 films...in one weekend.
