“You have to actively, as a storyteller, work really hard to break out of the confines of your culture and your world, you know. And one of the things that, cause it’s just natural that you just look around you and say, ‘ok what are the stories that I have? These immediate ones, right?’ I always try to gear people toward saying, Ok can you take away all the specifics of your story and then what you’re left with is just an emotional journey.”

Welcome back to Nothing Shines Like Dirt Episode 58. Elise and Lesley sit down with Actor/Writer Alexa Alemanni. They discuss writing as an actor, The Collaborative, and the written rules of the land: working with your spouse.
